I am a man of many masks
I am a man of many masks.
I love my masks, my masks aren't me.
All my masks are cracked.
Either a splintered smile or a crooked frown,
a lopsided laugh or a shattered sigh.
I get through the day, my masks protect me.
They protect nothing.
I never had a soul.
No one knows the real me, they only see the masks.
I don’t know the real me, I only see the masks.
I am many masks.
Who is the man behind the mask?
I am cracked.
Running through a field,
leaping for my life.
Will it catch me,
must I face it's strife?
It's closing in now,
no place left to run.
I stand like a statue,
for I know I am done.
It passes through me,
like the wind in the sky.
I can't open my eyes,
I know I have died.

The days last forever, the sun keeps on roasting us alive. The air conditioner can only do so much to stop the siege of fire that blasts us through the glass. We are on a long journey, through hundreds of miles of land, riding down South. We clamor to arrive due to cramped corners being our living spaces for days, with dreary, bored eyes looking abroad. Riding in and out of the states we keep on, flying by the lush and fertile rural lands. Quaint little towns which dot the countryside, isolated from the rest of the Earth. We pass large and gray towers of concrete and stone, glancing up at the marvels for only a second. Bridges that go on for

Peeking inside, he sees the two Cambial's shadows in another room, both clearly occupied. He quickly hides behind a near

The Adventure of Gerald Graver: Chapter 2
After thinking it through, Gerald decides the best action is to venture for Brushwood. Before he has time to second guess his decision, he heard something behind him. He turned with his bow, preparing to let the feathered arrow fly, until he saw it was just his wife coming around. Gerald was relieved it was not a pursuer, but would soon betray that emotion, when he heard,"Where...?" mumbled from his wife. She soon sat up seeing Gerald, and a sudden anger entered her eyes, and remember what had happened. She literally leaped at him, screaming profanities with every other word. Guthrie wouldn't be called a 'light weight', and knocked the breath

The Adventure of Gerald Graver: Chapter 1
In the land of Mondria right before a severed head was sent to a distant land, there was a farmer sleeping in his straw bed, and was dreaming of beautiful women, and more ale then there was in existence. He of course was rudely woken up by his wife, Guthrie, who screamed "Get up Gerald! You can't sleep all day, you need to get out there and work the fields!" Gerald begrudgingly got up, stretching and yawning for a minute or two, before finally getting up and dressing. Gerald, who's full name was Gerald Graver, was a semi-fit man who was unkempt, and severely needed a shower. He always wore average clothing that sewn by his wife and took a sho

The Adventure of Gerald Graver: Prolouge
There was once a great kingdom called Mondria. This land was vast open plains, dotted with farms, fortresses, and grand cities. The Mondrians had been in relative peace with it's neighboring country of Cambial. However after years of inner turmoil, civil war had broke out. The rebels, who called themselves "The Right", eventually defeated the Janis aristocracy after years of battle. The Right had requested the help from the Mondrians, but they turned them away. After the Right took over the Cambial lands, they shut off all contact to them. Several years later, the Right had sent their first message to the Mondrians, and it was an ultimatum.

Alright, basically I'm pre-ordering XCOM: Enemy Unknown and I'm getting an extra copy of Civ V. So this is where the whole "free" and "contest" part plays into it, if you want my extra copy all you have to do make XCOM fan art and I'll decide which one I think is the coolest. Simple really, but I must stress, the contest ends on October 14th. I really look forward to the drawings, have fun everybody!
Note: The copy is only available through Steam, and I would like you to post a link to the art on this page: http://steamcommunity.com/app/8930/discussions/0/882961586917888409/
